A Guide to Donations
Our community is super generous so we often get asked if you take donations. And the answer in a very Aussie way is yeah, but nah, but yeah.

Our philosophy is better than buying, so we are intentional about making sure the things we lend out leave our members feeling stoked.
So we only take items that a) are a joy to use, b) are good enough that you'd gift them to a good friend and c) people are likely to borrow (even if its only rare). So we won't take items that need repair, or 'have some quirks', don't have modern safety standards, or are on their last legs.
Please don't be offended if we have to say yeah, but nah - we don't have a heap of space and we have to be a bit choosy.
*a note on electrical items. If they are plug in, we can tag and test to make sure they are safe. If they are battery tools, we have made a decision to go with Dewalt, so that we have one set of batteries, so are unlikely to take battery items from other brands (eg makita, ryobi etc).
We only take items that:
-
Are a joy to use (not 'its got a few quirks')
-
You'd gift to a good friend (not 'on its last legs' or needs repair)
-
People are likely to borrow (not 'my old couch')
How to donate something
If you've got something that fits then we'd love to hear from you:
-
Do your own inspection, give it a clean, check its all working, and has the necessary parts
-
Send a photo and description to collectiveshed@vicparkcollective.com
-
Our working group will take a look, and give you a response.
-
Bring it down for us to take a look.
